Biblefresh (www.biblefresh.com/)
As
you will be aware, 2011 is the 400th anniversary since the
publication of the King James Version of the Bible and it therefore presents a
unique opportunity for the Church to focus its attention on the Word of God.
Biblefresh is a movement of churches, agencies, organisations, colleges and
festivals which has a vision to reignite and re-enthuse the church
in its
passion for the Bible. For many in our churches the Bible has become tedious
and toxic rather than treasured, trusted and true.
As
a church we, with many other churches up and down the country, have registered
with Biblefresh. The aim of the Biblefresh initiative is to
encourage a greater
confidence and passion for the Bible across the Church.
We
will be saying more about Biblefresh after the summer break. We have also been
given free copies of ‘Getting the best
from the Bible’
by Selwyn Hughes. We will be distributing these to all our
members in September.
“[God's words] are more
precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than
honey from the comb.” Psalm 19:10 (NIV)
